It's not so much that I don't care, but the whole doom and gloom nightmare scenarios wear thin and just irritate me to the point where I'm ready to start suggesting free Hummers for everyone just to shut the fuckers up. The fact is, we can't destroy this planet. Something the size of Mars hit the thing at one point, and it's still here (and hey, it formed our moon in the process, go universe!). The worst we can do is make the planet uninhabitable over large portions, which like all dampened feedback systems, leads to self correction. We'll mostly die, the biosphere goes back into balance, and the survivors hopefully learn some valuable lessons. We're not going to stop China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and a bunch of other developing nations from doing whatever it takes to keep developing, and three of those nations alone represent almost 40% of the world's population. I see it as more of an inevitable process. If it's fully natural, which to some degree, it is without question even if it's not 100%, we can't stop it. If it's not, we still can't stop Indonesia and Brazil from burning rain forests at alarming rates while India and China ramp up fossil fuel burning.

We're fucked, get used to it and enjoy the ride.
