I have done it...
I have done the unthinkable, and CLEANED MY OFFICE.
Well, de-cluttered really. It wasn't dirty, it just had a bunch of stuff piled in it.
All the random software has been sorted and put in file cabinets.
The vast majority of the hardware has been put in storage or is marked for removal.
My floor is almost empty, and I can see my desk again.
There's still more to do with the book shelf in here, but that can wait.
Forever in all probability.
