I was never in the target audience for an iPhone because I refuse to use AT&T/Cingular.

This, however, looks like it should kick ass.

And it lives on Verizon, which is good, because I'm not about to switch carriers.

Last year, my contract was set to expire around the time t-mobile released the G1. I've been using it for a year now. Love Android. The G1 could be a better handset but Android is totally awesome. This phone looks SPECTACULAR. I love the hardware keyboard too - the G1 has it and most other Android phones don't. It's a feature I would miss.

I've been watching the rapidly developing smartphone race with great interest, as my current cell phone will need to be replaced before I start living on the phone next July.

Having a phone give me turn-by-turn GPS *and* a better digital camera than I have now (and with a flash, to boot!) is really exciting. I was holding off on purchasing either separately in hopes somebody would come out with a smartphone that did all of the above, and I'm very pleased to see it happen.

And I still have eight months to go -- plenty of time for even cooler phones to come out. :-)

Excellent. I'm a schlubby for VZW, so I have to wait behind the line of customers to get my phone. Probably a couple weeks judging by past releases.

I'm looking forward to your critique if you do end up getting one.
