If we could just get the damn NIMBY[1]s and 100%ers[2] to see reason, we could get one or more of the new, improved nuclear power plants started up. The ones that put out barely any waste and are safer than anything from the past.
[1] (N)ot (I)n (M)y (B)ack (Y)ard. [2] If it isn't a 100% solution, it isn't worth implementing even if it solves 90% of the problem. My understanding of the nuclear power thing is it could potentially solve about 30% of our power needs in the next few years, but that's it. Seems to me 30% is better than nothing but some people are unreasonable.
