What the hell is wrong with you? I don't need an exhaustive list, I just need to know WHY installing Sametime causes my machine to use THREE HUNDRED MEGABYTES of additional memory. That's before I even start it. It's a fucking IM client. Please explain to me why I shouldn't firebomb whatever part of your organization is responsible for this travesty with extreme prejudice. Soon. This Enya track won't last for much longer, and them I'm going to start getting really pissed.

There's been a lot of press about the Harvard prof. who got arrested for effectively forgetting his keys. Now, I'm sure he was being a dick to the cop towards the end, but seriously, you would too if you had shown proof of residence and made it clear that you lived in the property in question and the officer hadn't told you to have a nice day and went on to do some real work.

Now, the question I have about this whole thing? Which one of his fucking neighbors called the cops on him in the first place? I may not know all my neighbors, but I see them enough to recognize them and wouldn't feel the need to call the cops if one had locked their self out of their house.

Yes, the police were stupid to arrest him, and yeah, he was stupid to get in a verbal confrontation with a police officer (you don't provoke them, even when you're right...especially when you're right, because they hate that...if they were normal and rational people, they wouldn't have become a cop), but I still can't fathom which of his neighbors felt the need to be so big a dick as to call the cops in the first place.

Dear Coworker,

It is not necessary to put [UNCLASSIFIED] in the Subject: line of email sent over our unclass network. If you ever feel the need to send anything over it that doesn't qualify for that label? I will beat you with your own bloody limb after I rip it off your body.

Thanks,

Jamie

Dubya. Tee. Eff:

Forecast high: 87F
Current temp: 89F

I'd think the NWS could update the forecast to coincide with reality.

What the fuck is up with people calling the Obama's fist to fist tap a terrorist gang sign? Shit, go watch Heathers, and you'll see the two primary football player characters do that. You know, the white ones. In a movie made back in 1989.

My two year old niece will do that if you hold your fist out. I'm pretty certain she's not a terrorist.

Does ANYONE take that shit seriously?

I have no doubt Obama is about to find himself the primary target of the Republican Slime Machine, but really, I expected something that at least had the facade of substance.

So, yesterday I was informed that it's time for my five year reinvestigation. Those of you who know what this means understand, those who don't, don't need to.

The hilarious part is that I submitted the paperwork for my current level on Sept. 10, 2001, and a little over two years later I was finally approved. Then the process started for my special access bits. Which, until an hour ago, was still in adjudication. I was approved. After my current standing goes back up for reinvestigation.

Contractors...Third Class Citizens 'R' Us. Six years and then some, from start to finish. If I were a GS, this would have taken less than three months.
