While I have a Dreamwidth account (username same as here), I really only use it to back up this journal (the ability to import my entire LJ, comments and all? Awesome) and to allow me to comment on folks who live over there. I have no intention of moving as of right now. While I have accounts on both FB and Twitter, I don't have them linked to here (I used to crosspost my LJ entries, but it seemed sorta redundant). I have considered, just for fun, having LJ echo Twitter, FB echo LJ, and Twitter echo FB (maybe even throw Google Buzz into that loop) and watch the chaos, but then, I use these accounts and sabotaging myself seems rather silly.

Rule of Thumb No. 1 still holds: Pay attention.

It's not that hard to not screw up.

This is a post to Dreamwidth. I will primarily use this for reading the people who migrate over and don't crosspost to LJ.

When rearranging sentences and paragraphs in an entry, PROOFREAD. I can't believe I posted that first sentence in the second paragraph. Oh well, it stands for all the world to see. I could edit it I suppose, but it needs total reconstruction and some added context.

Reading that earlier entry, it occurs to me...does anyone else bother considering stylistic consistency when posting?

Or is that just me?

So, I have this space over on Blogspot that I created a while ago so I could comment on folks blogs over there with a real profile. Same reason I set up a Typekey account. I'm thinking I might start using it. I haven't been posting much, and when I do, it's sort of random and tends to be a short step from stream of consciousness.

I'm pondering maybe using that space for actual coherent content, and keeping the wackiness confined to here.

Every time I think about posting something serious here, it feels like work to try and make it fit in with my usual rambling nonsense. I'm hoping that maybe having a separate space for more serious topics will lead me to more fun here, while actually posting more serious stuff over there.

Or maybe I'll just end up with yet another neglected place to worry about...
