Things you don't want to see, especially on the drive holding YOUR data:

And yes, that is my home directory. Fortunately, that drive gets backed up and verified EVERY night (it's MINE after all, some drives aren't so lucky).

At work or at home?

If it's at work, make sure you get a replacement like 10x bigger than the original disk. You know, for "stuff". Like you're own personal MP3 server.

That was an 18GB 10k RPM U160 LVD SCSI drive. It's replacement will be almost identical except for being U320 LVD and 72GB.

And since I was bein airheaded and forgot to mention it above, this is a work machine. Our primary Unix NIS/NFS box.
