Not going to work.

If the roads had been treated, I'd have probably not turned around and come home, but when I'm sliding around doing 25 - 30 on Fairfax Co. Parkway? Fuck it.

I was going to go in, work for a bit, and come home with the laptop that's currently sitting in its dock on my desk. If I had known yesterday when I left work that snow was even a possibility, I'd have brought it home with me, but I usually only take it home on the weekends.

And we're almost out of milk. This is hilarious, if you have any idea at all about how the DC metro area responds to snow. I wonder if either of the grocery stores nearby have any left?

I lived in Hilton Head for a while. Just before I moved, the weather folks announced there might be flurries. They wouldn't accumulate but snowflakes would be visible. The whole area freaked out. Every place sold out of antifreeze and gloves and hats and anything that might plausibly be used as a snow scraper. There was no food left for a good 10 mile radius. I had to drive down to savannah to get groceries. When the weather finally arrived, it spit snow for about an hour which didn't even make it all the way to the ground before it turned into mist.

DC goes nuts about snow but they're totally sane compared to those old bastards in hilton head :)
