emacs is MOTHER and FATHER. All vi ever did for me was spawn mutant inbred clones of itself.

Emacs and I never got along well. Any so-called editor that has more modes than Goth kids have shades of black is just, well, wrong.

Emacs was the first editor I learned to use in Unix land. It's still of the devil. Just ask it. Esc-x devil.
