So I was checking out http://www.electoral-vote.com/ and oh my are they getting slammed right about now.

Tomorrow's going to be fun to watch. I'll vote on my way out to work in the AM, and then I'll just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

See, I don't really care who wins. I have a preference, but he's not actually running, so I'll vote, but I live in a Red state and it doesn't actually matter. I could vote for Cthulhu and not have an effect on the outcome. It's very liberating. We have a few local bits to vote on, but that's just status quo, every year is a voting year in VA. It's either Pres./Senate, House, Senate, or House, plus all the local and state level elections thrown in for fun each year.

I said this in someone else's journal, but I feel the need to say it again here:

To all you fuckheads who are whining about moving if the wrong candidate (from your perspective) wins: Get some fucking perspective. We may be a little fucked up now, but we'll be just fine soon enough.

Feeling repressed from the Right? I have Joe McCarthy on the line for you...something about an Activity Committee?

Or perhaps the Left? Roosevelt would like to ask you about some USSC Judges he's having issues with...

Think our two party system is problematic? I dare you to look at the shambles that are the parliamentary systems elsewhere that don't have the marginalizing effect on their outlying idiots that our winner take all system does and not run away screaming.

The biggest change I'd make to our current system is to resurrect Federalism and give the Senate back to the States' Legislatures. And I'd do it tomorrow. That's what I want to see. If you honestly believe the States having lost their voice in Congress is a good thing, you haven't been paying attention for the last 80 years.
