Things I like to drink:

a) A good Bordeaux. Sure, it's from France, but I don't care. That lovely blend aged to full claret is damn fine way to spend an evening.

b) Captain Morgan's and Vanilla Coke. Go ahead, try it. Any decent sugary rum mixes well with Vanilla Coke, but I like the added spices in C.M.

c) Tom Collins. Sour mix; what more need be said?

d) Tequila Sunrise. How can you go wrong with tequila, OJ, and grenadine? Mix it badly, but other than that, it's all good.

e) Godiva Chocolate milkshake. Add a couple shots of GCL to a blender full of nice thick chocolate milkshake and enjoy.

f) Almost anything free. Is Bud great beer? No, but you know what, if someone else is buying, I don't care. There's some swill that's not worth drinking even free, but you have to be pretty vile to reach that level.

The Godiva chocolate milkshake idea is making me really, really wish I didn't have a midterm tomorrow.

I had a Tom Collins once. It tasted like perfume.

And tequila is of the devil. The only two alcohols that belong in OJ are either vodka or champagne. Screwdriver or mimosa, babee.

Tequila is not of the devil, it's a fine alcohol that has been derided for too long. Good tequila is actually drinkable (much like any good liquor) and goes down smooth. Get yourself a bottle of Two Fingers Gold (Best tequila ever? No. Good tequila that mixes well and is drinkable as a shot should you feel the need? Yes.) and have yourself a Tequila Sunrise that Don Henley'd be proud to sing about.

I'm finding I appreciate good tequila more than other liquors these days. Rum is still good, but tequila seems to have a certain something. Tequila has character, and this important to me. Tequila is cactus juice. Rum is molasses or cane sugar. The other liquors though, could be anything, modified to seem like the stuff it claims to be, especially vodka, which might be potatos, or beets, or corn or leeks or sugar or who knows what. Most vodka is any sugar, rendered into grain neutral spirit, and then dilluted and flavored. No character to that, no spirit.

The margarita is still the perfect drink, in my mind. On the rocks, not frozen. You have to be able to taste it.
