Why?

Going back over my journal, I notice that I'm not very interesting.

I work, spend time with family, and do TKD.

EDIT: Oh yes, and let's not forget the banal, juvenile, inanities that are memes that I just can't resist. We loves them Preciousss...oh yesss we doessss...

I wouldn't read my journal, except that it's mine of course, so I'm sort of obligated.

And the writing...it's terrible. Someone take the author out and get him a style guide or something.

[livejournal.com profile] desdenova writes about her travails moving across country and has that awesome noir style commentary of the Mage game she's in. [livejournal.com profile] missysedai has Adventures in Parenting! [livejournal.com profile] silmaril lives in her lab and writes about trying to finish up that EE PhD at UMD. [livejournal.com profile] turnberryknkn is going to finish up his PhD/MD at U Mich. some year (and he's insane for being in a dual program, but those of us who've met him already KNOW this), but he's got interesting things to say along the way. [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner writes about writing and finishing up that Masters (and she'll be Yet Another Cool Librarian. I never imagined I'd know, much less actively hang out with, librarians when I were a wastrel of a youf). [livejournal.com profile] montoya is well, himself. [livejournal.com profile] voltbang and [livejournal.com profile] chelona are friends and have cool hobbies that they post about. The list goes on.

But me? Nah, I'm not worth reading as far as I can tell.

who fuckin cares? the journal is for you more than us. post what you want, dude, not what you think WE want.

You are there, you are alive, you're prospering, and you're writing about doing far too many situps in sixty seconds to make me mildly jealous (I would be more jealous if I tried and couldn't hit that number, but since I don't actually set aside the time I don't think I have a right to be too jealous.)

You're writing about your son and busting the occasional mild workrant and you always leave interesting (and very fortright) comments.

And your approaches to memes are amusing.

I don't need another reason. But: What the guy before me said; it's your journal and you neither have to write what you think we want to read, nor have to write if you don't want to, period. But I do confess I'd be sad if you dropped out completely, because it's good to keep up with you, whatever you choose to put in here.

Then why the hell am I reading you? I'm wasting my time here! I should find someone more interesting to read.

I read you because LJ is a great way to keep up with friends.

I like your TKD posts, even if they do make me feel mildly guilty about not dragging my fluffy ass off to the gym more often.

You are interesting enough. Lets me know you are alive, and gives me a little update on the things that seem to be important in your life, without being intrusive. I value that, even if your narrative stucture isn't going to be winning any awards. What you write does the job.
