It's Friday. If you believe the myth, then yesterday, after having been nailed to a tree for a while, Jesus went and died. Seems like a bad way to start a weekend to me.

At least half the planet appears to have taken the day off, traffic was light, and we brokes the speed limit the whole way to works, oh yes Precious, we did.

Is it Good Friday? I can never remember if it comes at the beginning or end of Lent anymore. Oh well, shit happens.

My legs hurt, my hips feel like they just want to let go of my legs, and hey, I'm going to TKD at least twice more this week. Help.

In other news, my Wednesday doldrums appear to be over. Exchange is back to being it's usual wierd self, Veritas won't use several tapes that it hasn't allocated since back in December despite having only a one month retention on that volume group, and now SAIC is telling my FSO that the PCI cards Xpatch needs in order to run has memory on them, and we were supposed to do things to them to declassify them before shipping back the broken cards. Hey, Assholes, how about PUT SHIT THIS FUCKING IMPORTANT IN THE GODDAMNED MANUAL! And of course, since it involves a computer, this means I'm going to be dragged into at least one meeting with our DSS rep. I can't wait for the telecomms sector to get off its collective ass and get back in gear, so I can go work somewhere this type of shit isn't an issue again. I long for the days when the biggest concern I had on the security front was making sure people didn't use stupid passwords that would allow third parties to hijack their accounts and send spam or launch a DOS from it. While I wait, I've achieved yet another level of clearance, and am awaiting a timeslot for scheduling a poly for even more access to shit I'd rather not have to deal with. Yay.

I think I'm going to turn the speakers up a few more notches; if I have to be annoyed, then goddamnit, so does everyone else. Feel the power of the Darkside of the Subwoofer.

Yes, it is Good Friday.

The day at the beginning is Ash Wednesday.

If Hey, Zuess! died on Friday, then the Pagan Rite of Spring What Got Hijacked would be on Monday, as that would be the third day.

I'm not aure about that part of it, but they always made a big deal about him dying on Friday, as he was considerate enough to die before sundown (and therefore not on the Sabbath).

Unlike religious fanatics, I can count, he either died yesterday, or Easter's on Monday, God damnit.

It's not impossible that what they meant was that he rose on the third day, counting the day of death. Translation's a bitch.

Although Easter Monday was celebrated as a holiday for a very long time - this might just be another example of a holiday that's been retrofitted to better suit scheduling of holy days to fall on the preexisting every-week holy day.

Yes, this is Good Friday. I've ceased to be frightened that I know this.

And my legs feel the same way today, but not from TKD or anything like that, just a wimpy one-mile stint on the treadmill. Elliptical? I can do two miles no problem. Treadmill? One mile pushes it. Actually running on the track? Half a mile and I'm out.

An unholy combination of unhappy joints and unhappy lungs.

Good luck with the work situation.

The day he died counts. I've heard the translation and tradition arguments but, being neither a scholar in Greek or one in ancient Jewish customs, can't retell them.

No luck needed, this is just normal day to day bullshit. It's the sort of thing that seriously makes me ponder taking up a career working on vintage cars. There are no computers involved.

Yes, there is just a whole... host of other things involved.

But if you're still interested over the summer, come give a hand with The Datsun (I forget if you ever met the Datsun, although many Darkfriends within and without DC definitely have. Is Kor's car, 77 make.) This is the car that taught me to distinguish between different types of white noise a running car makes. And then we'll talk.
