I tried a new break last night.

It went poorly. It's the first time I haven't easily broken a board in a very long time. Not only did I not break the board, I have a swollen wrist and a nice impact cut to show for it. I attempted to do a ridge hand through a board in free fall (speed break), and managed to drop the board at about twenty degrees off angle from where I needed it. Despite that, I was moving so fast that I still managed to make contact with the blade of my hand...but no longer fast enough to break, so I bruised from the side of my pointer finger all the way to the base of my thumb. It was my own fault...I didn't do a practice drop, or I would have known that I was holding the board slightly off angle from where I needed it to be.

Note to self: speed breaks require EXACT precision; anything less is a recipe for disaster.
