So, I'm driving in to work this morning, and like, there's no traffic! This is Friday, yes? The Fed is of course closed on Monday along with just about everything else that isn't food or retail, and I'm guessing many of them opted for the 'take one get four' option on days off.

It took 25 minutes door to door to get to work this morning, and I was only doing 65 down the Toll Road and I-66.

This afternoon will probably be less fun, as those who went to work will skip out early, meaning that my usual shifting of hours to dodge traffic will not be as successful as normal. Unless of course I skip out early as well. Seeing as how it's going to be 80+ and sunny, I may.

The following is a sample of what shall be issuing forth from my awesome sound system for all to hear as I cruise home with no roof:

I've got nothing to say I ain't said before;
I've bled all I can I won't bleed no more.
I don't need no one to understand;
why the blood run cold in the hired hand

It's tempting to order one of those little Dell MP3 players like the one [livejournal.com profile] montoya just bought. [livejournal.com profile] robeli keeps eying the iPods, but I'm not terribly fond of them, and I can get the Dell through ye ole employer and get our happy corporate discount.

The big motivation to do this is that both of our cars have CD players that will play MP3 on CD, but her Sony Walkman CD doesn't. I could MP3 our collection, have tons o' music in the car, and dump everything she might ever want to listen to on the portable MP3 player for her.

I think the trees gratuitously fucking in the open air is fucking with me. My head is full of goop.

I've been in my office a while now, no human beings. None. I think the take one get four has really been popular this holiday weekend.

The office isn't empty, but many of my coworkers appear to have taken the option as well.

Same here, but given that I view most of my coworkers as irritants, it's kind of nice.

Re: Huh?

By the way... there's a dwarf on Jerry Springer fighting with a woman. He's screaming at her... it makes me feel like I'm back in Gloucester.

Re: Huh?

Oh, I see... you have allergy issues? I do too... It's awfully sexy to be that way, don't ya think? Especially when the sneezing and wheezing starts!

Incidentally, the dwarf has two skanky women fighting over him. No wonder this show was turned into a musical!

Re: Huh?

Springer is...special...yeah...rides the short bus special.

You really need a hobby.

Re: Huh?

I have hobbies out the ass... and I also have a formidable ass that belches out clouds of foul air on occasion.

I'm in a weird mood today. Must be hormones...

music

I don't necessarily need an ipod. I just want something small to have when I run and that has all the music I want in one place so I dont' have to switch out cd's. Making cd's work, but then we need to buy cd's for 1 or 2 songs on them that I like. Having something that downloads music means I get the music I want without having to spend 15-20 bucks and getting songs I don't necissarily want.

Ok, back to the lovely coordination of SOL's....

BTW - Lynn is showing me how to brush today - we get to start that with Evan this weekend.

Re: TAN

Because you have taste, sir. Duh.

[livejournal.com profile] flemco has many wonderful takes on Andrew Eldritch shot throughout the Jay Archives.

Re: TAN

Yes, I've read the entirety of that from beginning to when he decided that he just couldn't take it any further.

Eldritch is an asshole, but I still like the tunes.

Re: TAN

Oh, so do I. I have many, many happy memories from an earlier time when I went clubbing to SoM, Midnight Oil, Einsturzende Neubaten, etc. Floodland, IMHO, is a timeless work.
