I've been taking TKD since June of last year. We started Evan in April of last year, and after watching him for two months, I decided to jump in too. I've always regretted not taking Hamada's class more than one semester, and saw this as a good excuse to get back into a martial art.
It would have been a lot easier then since I was more flexible, weighed less, and stronger to begin with than I was when I started TKD last year, but I'm glad I started. I've committed to getting my black belt and am on track to test for it near the end of 2005 barring any injuries.
The one thing that might be an issue for me is my left hip. It's been really bothering me lately, and I did drop the bike in the rain one night (on an unmarked 90deg bend on a 35mph stretch of road, VDOT are a bunch of bastards) and severely bruise that hip back in summer 96. I'm starting to wonder if I did more than just bruise it.
