I haven't updated in a couple of weeks now, but that's okay as you've probably enjoyed your break from the inanity.

Things I've done recently:

Saw Cars. Pixar once again demonstrates why Steve Jobs was given a whole shitload of money by Disney. Which he then used to buy a large chunk of...Disney! He's the kind of weirdly obsessive personality that is actually probably exactly what Disney needs to once again be the company Walt founded. In any event, I liked this movie. A lot. A whole lot. When can I give someone money for the DVD, damnit? Hurry up! I want it noooooooooow. Okay, I'll quit impersonating Veruca Salt now.

Then I went and grilled up some steaks that were fucking amazing. Fear me, for I am Grill Man!

I turned 36 on Sunday. I'm pretty sure this means I'm officially dead or something.

In any event, my lovely wife, [livejournal.com profile] robeli, picked up Koyaanisqatsi for me, which is a sort of precursor to Baraka. Ron Fricke, who was the man behind Baraka was the cinematographer on Koyaanisqatsi. I see on IMDB that he's got a sequel to Baraka in production right now (Samsara, which is another sufi word if I had to guess). This is a good thing. Koyaanisqatsi doesn't work as well for me as Baraka, but it's still good and I'm glad she picked it up. This is the first of three documentaries, and I'll have to check the other two out at some point as well.

Evan also picked something up for me. One of the greatest movies ever, UHF. Weird Al is awesome. Thanks kiddo!

I had asked for a Ferrari F1 race car, but apparently you have to be a Ferrari sponsored race team or something to get one, so she got me an Enzo instead. How cool is that? I'll have to post pics at some point.

We went and watched the rockets red (and blue, and green, and purple, and yellow...) glare for the Fourth at Lake Fairfax to finish off the long weekend.

Happy very late birthday! Why did I miss this?

I liked Koyaanisquatsi; Baraka didn't make as much of an impression on me. But then, I saw K first.
