I'm an enormous Transformers fan. Optimus Prime's voice still gives me chills, and I can't wait to hear Peter Cullen doing it again.
But this movie has gone through a extremely disjointed production history. Essentially, it looks like the studios had no concept of just how big a cash cow it would be when they started, what with hiring the screenwriter for _Catwomen_ and all initially. Then add Michael Bay, an exclusive deal with GM to make the transformers turn into GM cars (apparently Bumblebee changes from classic model to new model halfway through the movie) and Jon Voight, and I'm forcing my surging hopes down.

I'll still be seeing it on opening day.
