At least, looking out the window, that's what looks like should be happening. It's not supposed to be this dark this early.

The lack of light is oppressive. Is the world getting ready to end or something?

Is the world getting ready to end or something?

Not here it's not. We got blue skies and sunshine.

Yeah, but you're in KANSAS. I may not be the hard core urbanite that Ms. Devnich is, but neither can I deal with cornfields as far as the eye can see either.

Wheat. Actually.

And I'd have to drive a way to see any of that, even. Wichita may be a tiny city by Eastern standards, but it's still a little too big to have people growing crops right in the middle of it.

Liar. There are cornfields and cows and... um, tractors 'n shit RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW.

Don't shatter my illusions!

Given that this just came across my friends list two entries before yours, it seems you're not alone.

They at least got some snow. Here it was just fog and dense cloud cover.

The sun'll come out tomorrow!

and the days will starting getting longer in another week or so...

The sun is finally burning off the fog this morning...it looks like we might actually see the sky today.

Welcome to three months out of the year in the Pacific Northwest. Now you know why Starbucks started here; it's the only thing between us and jumping off of bridges.

I was going to say something snarky about you being so far south you don't know real darkness until I realized I'm actually two degrees further south than you. Heh, whoops, nevermind.

Yeah, it's always weird to be reminded that the highest point in the lower 48 states is that bit of MN that sticks up in to...Alberta? Maybe Seskatchewan. I could look, but I'm not gonna, so THERE.

New England, and by extension, your bit of Canada, definitely have worse weather than the Pacific Northwest.

MN is Minnesota, right? It borders on Manitoba (and maybe Ontario), so you were close. (I just looked it up because I was curious, and it sticks into Ontario. In case you were still curious. It's odd, since everywhere else in that line of states/provinces is along the 49th.)

San Diego, of all places, gets this permanent haze during the 'fall/winter' months, making it kinda gloomy there too (as much as anywhere in SoCal gets fall/winter weather).

It's just practicing. I mean, you want to get this sort of thing right.
