Not at home of course, which is why I'm dreading leaving work. The wife calls this morning, telling me her machine is complaining that it can't find a bootable drive. Normally it's always on, and shouldn't be looking for anything. Modern hard drives suck. An 18 month old drive shouldn't be failing. Of course, she's mad at me for not making backups, but somehow I don't think she'd approve of my spending $5k on a DLT 8000 and then $80/tape for media to have a tape storage medium large enough to hold all the stuff on all the drives in our various machines, and that excludes the cost of the software which would be necessary to backup all the machines across the network.
Or she could, you know, use the DVD-RW I put in her machine to archive the things she cares about.
