So, two weeks ago today, I took a day off from work and we took advantage of [livejournal.com profile] robeli and E being on Spring Break and drove up to Philadelphia for a day of playing tourist.

Am I wrong to still have these nagging feelings that our country is totally broken after having to submit to being searched by Homeland Insecurity just to visit the buildings where the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights were drawn up, voted on, and adopted?

The symbols have become sacred in and of themselves, and what they symbolized has been forgotten. It's sad to think that it's all down hill from here, but I just can't shake the feeling.
