I have the first of the final three evaluations tomorrow night. This one is informal, but depending on how it goes determines whether I stay on the list for the formal pretest and final for second degree. So of course, I managed to injure myself last night. It's minor, only a bruised calf, but I can't walk unaffected right now, and I can only hope I'll be okay for tomorrow night. It hurts a lot more this morning than it did when I went to bed last night, but there's only the slightest shadow of a bruise. A week from now it'll be yellow and brown and cover half my lower right leg. I love those really deep contusions. Like icebergs, they're bad news.
If nothing else, it'll make things more interesting. I'll be doubling up on pain meds tomorrow night. That should help with the calf as a nice side bonus.
