I'm once again drowning in back scatter as I get thousands of mailer daemon reports of delivery failures to non-existent addresses from MTA's that are too stupid to reject the message in the first place, as it didn't come from the domain claimed by the From: line, thanks to some dick head spammer having scraped my address off of some list and used it as the sender.

Dear stupid systems admins, please quit your jobs and kill yourselves, you're just as responsible as the slime who abuse your misconfigured systems.

God, I hate that shit so much, and it happens to me at least once a week, it seems like.

Yep. I can always tell when it happens too. I suddenly go from half a thousand spam a day to several thousand an hour almost instantaneously until it dies down again (I filter all mail to and from mailer daemon, as the SNR is so low the signal is undetectable).
