Since my office is near the kitchen/break room, I overhear lots of random shit when I leave my door open.

Today, I got to overhear two of my coworkers discussing the upcoming election. Both are very Republican, so they weren't arguing or anything ,just discussing things from the right wingnut point of view.

The statement that just made want to punch a motherfucker in the nuts? It went like this:

"Obama's a god damned communist...look at his voting record. And he's more Muslim than Christian."

I'm sorry, but nothing in the Democrat party is remotely left enough to do more than dabble in minor socialism. And the stupid Muslim statement? I can't believe people are still spouting that shit.

If you want to vote for McCain, vote for McCain, but why is it necessary to demonize the left? Last time I checked, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam all started under Democrat rule, and they didn't capitulate or go handing the country over to the Soviets or the Chinese. Their Republican followers agreed to a stalemate or left the field to the enemy, respectively. If Nixon had won in 1960, it wouldn't shock me if there were missiles in Cuba.

You live in Matthews...somehow, I can't see the real estate there having been all that overvalued. It's...Matthews. You're practically on an island with no redeeming features with only one road in and out (sorry, I have to pick on Matthews, it's a Gloucester thing...somebody has to be worse than us...).

Yeah, and I see the Gloucester schools didn't even bother to teach you to spell it (one "T"). And remember, most folks have to drive through Gloucester to get there, so it looks *really* attractive.

I live in Toano, though.

I even knew that. I don't know why I spell it with two ts.

Toano's nice, and Williamsburg shouldn't be that bad on pricing. We were looking in that area when we were considering moving back to Hampton Roads from up here in hellNorthern VA, and pricing in that area wasn't that bad (although we were looking on the York Co. side, and Toano's James City Co. if memory serves).

Williamsburg is steep close to the college, and didn't have very many properties in my price range. Anyone looking for something in the 350+ range would find plenty to choose from, though. We ended up in Toano simply because it was the best house in my price range by far. Yep, Toano is in JCC.

There was a farm for sale in Guinea that I thought about for a moment...sure, it ain't as rough as it used to be, but naaah. Plus it was a bit far for a commute.

Sometimes people drive 5 or 6 miles below the speed limit! It's ridiculous! No fast, free flowing up the keenly-designed expressways like you have up there in NoVA.
