So, we have this machine that we custom ordered that I'm currently playing with, and holy Zombie Jesus On A Stick, it's a beast.

Quad core i7 3.2ghz processor, 12GB of RAM, and four Nvidia GTX 295 boards, all SLI'd to a 9600 GT. We don't really care about 3d graphics all that much, we just wanted the eight GPUs that four 295s give us for computation (and the 9600 GT's GPU can be used as a PhysX processor too, but I don't know if that's in the plan or not).

Right now I'm just playing around with Win7 Beta on it to stress test the hardware, but wow it's fast.

It's an Intel motherboard, and I was wrong about the graphics cards...there are only three of the GTX 295s, because it turns out that putting four in wouldn't allow for the installation of memory due to card size (and it's where there is only 12GB of RAM instead of the board being maxed out), and the fourth was replaced with the 9600 GT because it was the beefiest GPU that could be installed and not interfere with the memory slots.
