And hey, the current administration might even go so far as to call me a terrorist for even asking, but what twisted interpretation of the Interstate Commerce Clause was used to allow last night's Congressional decision to give federal courts jurisdiction in the Shiavo situation?

Where the fuck are all the actual conservatives? You know, people who believe in smaller govt. whose job is running the country, not micromanaging your family?

To all the gay people out there complaining that they don't have a say about their partner's medical decisions: neither do the rest of us anymore, so you can drop that one now.

Welcome to America, where you are free to live however you choose and believe whatever you want, as long as it's christian.

Fuckheads.

So I left for work early today, and got to see part of one of the AM shows (Today, or Early Morning, or some such twaddle). They had some Republican yutz on, and when the "reporter" asked him how he could claim to be for small government and states rights and yet vote for yesterday's amendment, his response was that when Jefferson got inaugurated, his speech called for "a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another" (snagged from here).

Of course, earliner in the speech Jefferson also said "And let us reflect that, having banished from our land that religious intolerance under which mankind so long bled and suffered, we have yet gained little if we countenance a political intolerance as despotic, as wicked, and capable of as bitter and bloody persecutions."

Spot 'em.
