Her body finally caught up with her brain:

Terri Shiavo finally quits being newsworthy.

Good, now the right wing religious wags will blather on about how tragic it is for a bit and then finally shut the fuck up about it.

I think it’ll come up periodically. Just mention the term to whip up support or somesuch. Though I hope people aren’t as against it as the anti-types are arguing.

This frees the husband up to try to get the pope's feeding tube removed.

I also expect to see many photos of the grieving parents at her funeral/at other various times, and possibly pictures of her husband if he's abundantly grief-stricken or shows an "appalling" lack of open grief. And hear snippets from both sides of the "issue" it's turned into, now that she's gone. And I expect to see someone try to push through another law to try to prevent more "needless tragedies" like this... etc etc. So I don't expect it to be over for a while.

But I, too, am relieved, because it at least marks the beginning of the end, where things can have a chance to now work themselves to quietude again.

At least it wasn't Good Friday or Easter, in which case we'd never ever ever hear the end of it.
