Those Bastards at Canon and Nikon are taunting me, damnit.
I've wanted a decent SLR camera since my dad's broke back in the mid 80s. Currently, we use a Sony DSC V1 for our picture taking, which as point and squirt digitals go, is not a bad camera. If we suddenly get the overwhelming urge to use a 35mm point and squirt, we've got a decent little Fuji. If I want to take real pictures, oh well.
Canon are releasing the EOS 30D this month:

Get the body without the default lense, and use the difference to get a nicer replacement lens and add a decent flash, and Hey!
Nikon have also recently released a really nice body I like and are thus taunting me too (and it's got a larger sensor and optional 802.11g capability):

Coupled with these:

http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php?cat=1&grp=4&productNr=4801
That would be a nice base dSLR setup.
