Guessing how this works, it's just using the first six hex digits from the ascii translation of the letters in your username, since the normal color tag looks like color=[0-f][0-f][0-f][0-f][0-f][0-f] where all 0 is white and all F is black. I could be out of order, but the first pair is red intensity, second pair is green intensity, and third pair is blue intensity. Ye gods, I haven't hand coded colors in HTML in almost 8 years now.
